I’ve received a scholarship!

Today I got the news that I’ve been granted a scholarship for writing poplyrics from the norwegian fond for music (Musikkfondene)! I am so happy and very grateful. Wow. :-)

Music

March 31st, 2009

It’s time to go a bit more public with our music! My boyfriend, Dagfinn Koch, and I have made some music “with a little help from our friends”, Tirill Mohn, Finn Coren, Dagfinn S. Skoglund and my daughter Julie. It has resulted in quite a lot of songs, and on Dagfinns site at Sonicbids are some songs you can listen to if you are interested. (click on the button “audio”) The songs are very different in both content and expression, and we have done that on purpose to show some of our different sides. I have written the lyrics on these songs, we both do vocals. We call the project “Pretty Mellow”.

And by the way, I am applying again this year to “Høstutstillingen” with two paintings, so wish me luck!

New sketchbook

March 1st, 2009

Lately I have been more busy writing for music than painting, but I still use my sketchbook pretty regularily. Book #7 ended, and I had to buy a new one, which isn’t easy to find. I want a book that is realtively small sized, but not too small and preferably sqaure, and it must have paper that allows both drawing, painting and glueing stuff into. Book #1 was great (Cartiera Magnani), but they are impossible to find anymore, so I had to look elsewhere. I found my new book at KEM. Not square, but it feels ok anyway. I have published some of the pages from the new book here.

Thank you!

I just want to say thank you for all the wonderful comments I have received after redesigning and publishing the sketchbooks. It is really inspiring to hear from you. :o )

NEWS

February 1st, 2009

The attentive visitor will notice that the design of my page once more have changed. It is not because I love webdesigning, but more because Freeway caused quite a bit frustrations. By all means, it is a great program – for the one that is skilled and patient enough to puzzle their way through master files and file structure. I am neither… I don’t think I have ever been described as particularily patient. Freeway also caused mixup with files when I moved photo files on my hard drive, and then couldn’t find the pictures when I uploaded something new. So – this new design is really a Wordpress blog with a theme I tweaked into what you now see. I am aware that the site looks different in different browsers, but I don’t know enough css coding to understand why, and at the moment I am not in the mood to continue tweaking… From here it looks best on a Mac using Safari. This site is quite image heavy, so prepare for some loading time.

Regarding exhibitions, I still haven’t gotten any further, so it’s really not much to tell.

Here are som of the older news:

13. January 2009:
I am still searching for a place to exhibit in Norway, so please feel free to contact me if you have any ideas.

1. November 2008:
We are soon going back to Germany to bring the paintings home. I have started working on some new paintings, and I am searching for a place to make an exhibition in Oslo.

1. Oktober 2008:
The exhibition in Schwerin is now ended.

27. August 2008:
The opening of my second exhibition went fantastic! This time it is held in Stadbibliothek Schwerin, in an amazingly beautiful room called the Perzina Saal. It used to be an old piano factory. The opening is Thursday 21. August 2008, at 18.00, and the pictures will be on display until 30. September. Pictures will be up once I have gathered them from different people that had their cameras aimed and loaded.
